YC-Funded Envolve Launches An API For Real-Time Chat
August 10, 2011 at 1:10 PM

Screen Shot 2011-08-10 at 11.48.30 AM

Internet chat is older than the web, but it still remains one of the best ways to keep people engaged with a site. And for good reason: people like talking to each other. Or at least, they like to share their opinions with the knowledge that someone, somewhere is reading them.

Now Y Combinator-backed startup Envolve is making it even easier to integrate chat boxes into your site by launching an API that offers chat-as-a-service. And it’ll let you integrate chat into nearly any webpage with a quick snippet of JavaScript. You can try one of their chat boxes out on TagChat, which lets you chat about trending topics on Twitter.

For some context on what Envolve is doing here, it’s best to look at the company’s history. Envolve has actually been around for a year now, iterating through several versions of the product. First, it offered a browser chat bar similar to the Meebo Bar and Facebook Chat. This bar prompted users to create Envolve accounts, which would allow them to chat with friends on the site they were currently browsing, as well as on other sites with Envolve integrated.

That didn’t get much uptake (people didn’t want to create yet another account), so the site later allowed websites to merge the toolbar with their own user account systems — which has fared better. The toolbar is now integrated into 20,000 sites including Destructoid and eleven sites run by Universal Music. All told, the partner sites account for 400,000 messages being sent per day, and over 45 million have been sent overall.

Thus far, Envolve’s chat products have offered side-wide chat, allowing users to engage with their friends. Today’s launch is different in that it allows sites to programmatically generate chat boxes for individual pages. So, for example, an online retail store could automatically create a chat box for each of its items without having to manually insert embed codes for each. This API is limited to desktop websites for now, but a mobile version is in the works.

On the backend, Envolve offers analytics and options to help site admins cut back on spam — you can require users to authenticate before they can start chatting, and there are also some default filters.

Envolve offers two pricing levels: the more basic, ‘consumer’ level will allow up to 100 users to chat on the site concurrently, while the enterprise level has no limit and charges based on how many visits the site receives. Note that even users who don’t actually start chatting count as a visit, because they’ll still see what other people are chatting about.

Envolve’s competitors include Meebo (which has the Meebo Bar) and Wibiya.

Logitech trots out another keyboard case, this time for the Galaxy Tab 10.1
August 10, 2011 at 1:05 PM

You might have noticed that accessory makers have a habit of churning out stuff for iDevices first and everything else second. Specifically, though, we’re noticing that in the world of tablets, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is fast becoming companies’ No. 2 once they’ve gotten the iPad squared away. Take Logitech, for example. The company just announced a keyboard case for Samsung’s deliciously thin slate — a near facsimile of the one it released for the iPad a few months back. To recap, this isn’t your garden-variety folio case with a keyboard and kickstand, but rather, an aluminum lid with a full ‘board lining the interior. Logitech also attempts to justify the steep $99.99 price with shortcut keys for copying and pasting and cushioned corners that offer a modicum of protection in the event of a drop. But does that make it worth it? We’ll leave that to your and your wallet.

Foodspotting Hits A Million Downloads, Celebrates By Upping The Gluttony
August 10, 2011 at 1:01 PM

IMG_2015

I remember when I first wrote about Foodspotting a year and a half ago. At the time, nearly everyone I knew was using various social networks to share pictures of their food. Foodspotting was a service built around that very idea. That alone may have been enough, but the broader goal behind the photo-sharing was always food discovery.

Today, the service has hit one million downloads of their food discovery applications. And to celebrate, they’re upping the social connections within the app with a new “Follow” tab. From here, you’ll be able to more quickly find and follow your friends (and food experts) who are also using Foodspotting. And you’ll also be able to follow specific foods and restaurants all in one stream.

The ability to follow people, places, and foods has existed on Foodspotting’s website for a while, but the apps are the keys to the service. Foodspotting co-founder and CEO Alexa Andrzejewski says they noticed people weren’t just launching the app when they were hungry, they were launching it all throughout the day. Yes, the app now encourages more gluttony!

Of course, Foodspotting has a different take on the update. “People don’t trust apps, people trust people. Our goal was never to create another social network or photo sharing app. Instead, we’ve designed Foodspotting’s social elements to support the food-finding experience,” Andrzejewski says. “When you visit a new city or walk into a restaurant, you can see what a friend — or the Travel Channel — recommended there. With a growing user base and these social features, our vision of a lens-like app that reveals interesting things around you is becoming more and more real each day,” she continues.

Alongside a million downloads, Foodspotting now has over 720,000 reviews/photos on the service, we’re told.

The latest version of the app (2.5) is now live in the App Store here. And in the Android Market here. Foodspotting notes that they’re also beta testing a BlackBerry app, and they’re working on something for Windows Phone users as well, both built with partners.

Omaha Startup PeggyBank Digitizes Old Media For Online Sharing
August 10, 2011 at 12:58 PM

peggybank

If you’re like me you’ve thought about digging up old 8mm film, or VHS tapes, and converting them to a more modern format. There are a lot of services that fulfill this need – just do a search for “media conversion” or something similar and you’ll see dozens of services. Most of the sites don’t inspire much confidence in sending them priceless childhood videos, though. And generally they focus on getting media to DVD and mailing it to you.

Omaha, Nebraska based PeggyBank stands out. The company mails you a pre-addressed box for your media. You can include anything – photos, slides, negatives, 8mm video or VHS. They’ll convert it all, put it on their site for you to view, and return the original media. You can then share links to the digital files, or download them to keep on your hard drive, burn to DVD or CD, etc.

Here’s an example video from 1958.

PeggyBank just launched in March, and uses Kaltura to deal with video streaming. The service is pretty slick for a new startup on a shoestring budget.

What’s most surprising is how well they’re doing. The company is cash flow positive and is generating over $50,000 per month in revenue. Average order size is in the hundreds of dollars.

How’d they do it?

CEO Jim Simon has focused exclusively on daily deal sites to generate traffic. He says he’s tried Groupon but the revenue split and the onerous terms don’t really work for him, but that services offered by the New York Times, the LA Times and other newspapers are perfect. They address an older audience, he says, with lots of old pictures and movies they’d like to see online. And they promote deals aggressively in print, online, via email blasts and on social networking sites.

So far he’s relied almost exclusively on these daily deal sites to generate traffic. And because so many people include lots of extra media he’s able to make a tidy profit.

There’s lots he wants to get done now that the business is off the ground, though. Streamlining operations to allow for scale is a priority, as is building out a tech team to build a more robust sharing and streaming product for users.

There’s no innovative tech here. But there is a plucky young startup headquartered in the middle of nowhere that’s created a nice product, is marketing it smartly and may just turn into a big business.

Logitech & Zagg Unveils The Logitech Keyboard Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
August 10, 2011 at 12:58 PM

logitech-tablet-keyboard

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 owners? Your keyboard case has finally arrived. The Logitech Keyboard Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a long product name for what is popularly called a Zagg Case. Let’s not get caught up in the manufacturing design details, but this keyboard case carries a Logitech badge and per the product page, is a Zagg product. The branding is just like Logitech’s iPad 2 keyboard case. In fact this product is almost an exact copy of the iPad version. It’s just designed to work with the GalTab 10.1 instead.

The keyboard case connects with the GalTab 10.1 over Bluetooth and features quick access keys above the chiclet keyboard. The case itself snaps onto the tablet, providing a good degree of protection while neatly storing itself.

Pricing is inline with the iPad 2 version with a $99 MSRP. Of course you need a Galaxy 10.1 to go along with it, which is becoming rather difficult in Australia and Europe. The product page just went live, but as of this post’s writing, the large “Preorder Now” button directs you to Logitech’s homepage. That will likely be fixed shortly and will allow anxious buyers to slap down their credit card to be added to the waiting list.

Browser battle: Nexus S vs. the iPhone 4 and the new BlackBerry Bold 9900
August 10, 2011 at 10:35 AM

Browser battle

Our pals at CrackBerry are marveling in their first new device in, well, forever, and your old pal Bla1ze is putting them through a bit of a browser battle. Above, you see the iPhone 4, the new BlackBerry Bold 9900, and, of course, the Samsung Nexus S.

Let’s be honest here: We’re actually pretty happy that, after all these years, BlackBerry finally has a usable web browser. And it looks pretty quaint on that tiny little screen. But watch the video (after the break). It’s pretty clear who the winner is, no?

Apple Blocks Sales Of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 In EU, Motorola's Xoom Next?
August 10, 2011 at 10:32 AM

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10.1_1

Back in April when it was just a bunch of harsh words and vicious threats, the beef between Samsung and Apple was pretty entertaining. But things are only funny until someone gets hurt, and this time it’s Europe that will feel the pain. In its never-ending tiff with the South Korea-based Samsung, Apple won a temporary injunction to block sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 within the entirety of the European Union, minus the Netherlands.

What’s weird is that Samsung seems to have had no idea any of this was going down until it was too late. Specifically, the order was given “without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung,” according to Samsung spokesman Kim Titus, who confirmed with Bloomberg. Apparently this is pretty normal in Germany — plaintiffs must only prove that infringement occurred to get an injunction rolling, either preliminary or permanent, with no requirement to inform the other party. However, the court often only grants a preliminary injunction (like this one) when it believes that a subsequent permanent injunction will be granted, as well. If it’s not and Apple loses, the Cupertino-based company will most certainly owe damages to Samsung.

According to German news service dpa, the injunction is entirely related to design and intellectual property right, rather than software- or hardware-related patents. Apple made it clear long before anything went down in Europe that it wasn’t pleased with the look and feel of the GalTab 10.1, and even went so far as say that Samsung copied Apple-style packaging, too. The word “slavishly” comes to mind. But there’s still a little sliver of hope for our European friends who’ve been just dying to play around with Samsung’s 10-inch slate. Galaxy Tabs still in stock will continue to sell until the current inventory is gone. So if you need one, just leave now. Don’t even keep reading.

I mean it… Go!

Anyway, Samsung has responded to the injunction, promising to “act immediately to defend our intellectual property rights through the ongoing legal proceedings in Germany and will continue to actively defend these rights throughout the world. [We will] take all necessary measures to ensure Samsung's innovative mobile communications devices are available to customers in Europe and around the world.”

Meanwhile, Apple seems to have moved on to yet another competitor, reports SlashGear. Motorola and Apple have been entwined in litigation for the past few months, but only after digging into the Galaxy Tab news was it uncovered that Apple has already filed a complaint in Europe regarding the design of the Honeycomb-powered Xoom. Since Samsung had no idea the injunction had gone through, it’s pretty likely that Motorola is only becoming aware of this now, as it spreads across the web. Speculation suggests that Apple is going straight for a permanent injunction with Motorola, since the Xoom has been around long enough to warrant it.

Apple looks to Samsung as LG fails to meet iPad 2 display demands, report claims
August 10, 2011 at 10:31 AM

Apple will turn to Samsung and Chimei Innolux to supply display panels for its iPad 2 after LG’s panels failed to meet Apple’s quality requirements. The quality issues with LG’s displays forced the company to miss its July monthly shipment goal by 1 million units, DigiTimes said. Reportedly, LG’s LCD backlight units failed during Apple’s drop tests. LG had hoped to ship 4 million LCD units per month during the third quarter, but only shipped an estimated 2.5-2.6 million units in July. Samsung, by comparison, provided the Cupertino-based firm with two million displays, or twice its monthly average. Chimei Innolux shipped 450,000 units during the month and the company has a new monthly shipment goal of 1 million – 1.5 million units. Despite quality issues, LG is expected to remain the top supplier of LCD displays, and rumor has it the Korea-based company is also working on new Retina screens for the next-generation iPad.

Verizon hoping the HTC Bliss will be a charmer with the ladies, bluetooth charm sold seperately
August 10, 2011 at 10:31 AM

Since the dawn of the original Motorola Droid, Verizon's commercialization of the Droid name has always been blatantly surging with testosterone. Now however, teaming up with HTC, it seems Verizon wants to target its female customers directly with the HTC Bliss. The Bliss looks to be a mid-range phone, as evidenced by recent gossip of it sporting an 800Mhz processor designed by Qualcomm; more than likely the MSM7630, supported by the Adreno 205 GPU.  What it may lack in processor strength, it makes up for with good looks, featuring Gingerbread 2.3.4 as well as possibly HTC's Sense UI version 3.5.

As mentioned in our previous article, you can expect some unique features for the Bliss, including a gel-coat back, shopping and calorie counting apps factory installed, and maybe even multiple colors to choose from.  Verizon and HTC are also readying the accessories for this one. I have to say, the things they have planned are refreshingly different. For instance, a wireless charge dock with speakers is in the works, as well as a special Bluetooth enabled phone charm that lights up for notifications; pretty nifty.

So Ladies, does this phone entice you? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Samsung Galaxy XCover gets uncovered in Germany, dares us to drop it in mud
August 10, 2011 at 10:20 AM

The Samsung Galaxy lineup has become so diverse that nearly every demographic has at least one selection to choose from, with one clear exception: we haven’t seen a rugged version. Samsung’s hoping to fill that gaping hole by announcing the Galaxy Xcover, the world’s first Android device with IP67 certification — which means it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep and can hold its own against a continual onslaught of dirt and dust. The Xcover will offer Gingerbread out-of-box, and features a 3.6-inch scratch-resistant display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash, and 7.2Mbps HSDPA. The company’s still vague on the other details, such as pricing and availability; the only country announced so far is Germany, which should see the device sometime in October. We hope the device will have a wider distribution; we know for a fact Germans aren’t the only folks on this Earth that are hard on their phones. Press after the break.

Amazon announces Kindle Cloud Reader web app for iPad, Mac, Windows

Amazon announces Kindle Cloud Reader

Amazon just let us know that their Kindle Cloud Reader is now live, and lets you read any of their over 950,000 Kindle books right in Safari on iPad, Mac, or Windows, or Chrome on Windows, Mac, or Linux, without needing the Kindle app or hardware.

While there’s no iPhone or iPod touch (it tells you your browser isn’t supported and you should download Safari or Chrome, though hopefully a better intercept screen is in the works), it’s a full HTML5 web app and includes offline storage. I’ve tried it out on iPad and it works quickly and cleanly. The Kindle Store is built in, so there’s no jarring transition to the Amazon.com version of the store, and all the menus and options work really well. Likewise, the text is just a legible as it is in the app, and the WhisperSync works perfectly. Hopefully it keeps up that level of performance when personal libraries get really big.

With the controversy that arose in the wake of Apple’s App Store subscription service, and the requirements to match pricing (since dropped) and remove links to external stores (still in effect), it felt like only a matter of time before Amazon would go this route. It will be interesting to see how many others follow.

Details and screen shots after the break. Anyone going to stop using the app and switch to the web app?

"We are excited to take this leap forward in our 'Buy Once, Read Everywhere' mission and help customers access their library instantly from anywhere," said Dorothy Nicholls, Director, Amazon Kindle. "We have written the application from the ground up in HTML5, so that customers can also access their content offline directly from their browser. The flexibility of HTML5 allows us to build one application that automatically adapts to the platform you're using – from Chrome to iOS. To make it easy and seamless to discover new books, we've added an integrated, touch optimized store directly into Cloud Reader, allowing customers one click access to a vast selection of books."

Features of Kindle Cloud Reader include:
– An immersive view of your entire Kindle library, with instant access to all of your books
– Start reading over 950,000 Kindle books instantly within your browser
– An embedded Kindle Store optimized for your web browser makes it seamless to discover new books and start reading them instantly
– New Kindle Store for iPad is built from the ground up for iPad's touch interface
– Your current book is automatically made available for offline use, and you can choose to save a book for reading offline at any time
– Receive automatic software updates without the need to download new software
– Select any book to start reading, customize the page layout to your desired font size, text color, background color, and more
– View all of the notes, highlights, and bookmarks that you've made on other Kindle apps or on Kindle
– Sync your last page read across your Kindle and free Kindle apps so you can always pick up where you left off

Kindle Cloud Reader is available for Safari on iPad, Safari on desktop and Chrome starting today. Kindle Cloud Reader on the iPad is optimized for the size and unique touch interface of iPad. Without even leaving the app, customers can start shopping in the Kindle Store and will find a unique and immersive shopping experience built specifically for iPad's Safari browser.

Kindle Cloud Reader will be available on additional web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, the BlackBerry PlayBook browser, and other mobile browsers, in the coming months.

Video Of Purported iPhone 5 Landing Page on Swiss Apple.com Fails To Impress
August 10, 2011 at 10:10 AM

A popular video is gaining traction on YouTube from some who claims to have uncovered an iPhone 5 landing page on the Swiss version of the iPhone 5. Does it pass the smell test?

The iPhone 5 News Blog‘s coverage of the impending iPhone release took an interesting turn yesterday with the revelation from a reputable source that iPhone case manufacturers in Asia are preparing for an “iPhone 4Gs” that will be based on the same basic form factor of the iPhone 4. This news came as a jolt to the community of iPhone 5′ers who frequent the Blog, since the prevailing notion both among the writers and commenters has been that Apple would be hard-pressed not to make sure that the next iPhone is indeed a revamped model with the number “5″ after its name.

This news yesterday trumped an interesting tip that we received from Dan over at NextiPhoneNews, who posted and commented on a new YouTube video what allegedly depicts an iPhone 5 landing page on the Swiss version of Apple.com. Dan explains that “The guy goes to the iPhone page, and then he shows some hidden links below the normal ones. Once he clicks on one of them he's redirected to the iPhone 5 page, which includes images, specifications and so on.” You can check out the rest of Dan’s article here.

If you take a look at the video and the story, however, there are some major issues with both that raise doubts to its validity. First off, all of the images of the iPhone 5 on the landing page look to be solidworks renderings — not real photos of the iPhone 5. It would stand to reason that the marketing/creative department has already gotten their hands on the next iPhone and have done a comprehensive photo session with it — even if all they have to work with is a dummy iPhone shell with no real “guts” inside of it. As we speak, Apple is most likely putting together ads, web pages, packaging graphics, and other marketing content for its eventual release. Just take a look at the profound difference in quality from the iPhone 4 graphic to the iPhone 5 one — it’s actually laughable.

Second, while the video maker claims to have discovered hidden links in the navigation of the Swiss Apple.com website, those links are nowhere to be found now, as Dan reports in his piece as well. Further to this point, I personally checked all of the Apple.com websites a few weeks ago by using an xml sitemapgenerator to see all of the published pages of the Apple websites, and there was nothing mentioning the iPhone 5. In point of fact, hiding white-on-white “hidden” links is a “black hat” practice for webmasters that can lead to stiff penalties by Google in their search rankings. No webmaster at Apple would ever risk such a method for working on an up-coming web page for risk of Google or chowderhead video makers discovering it.

Third, did you know that anyone can easily copy the source code of any webpage and re-create it? Even someone with virtually no web building skills can go to a web page, view its source code, copy it, and paste it into an HTML editor. It would stand to reason that someone with web skills could very well recreate all of apple.com, complete with their own bogus iPhone 5 landing page.

Chances are, Apple’s talented web team has all of their new iPhone content on an incredibly secure server, well away from prying eyes, and it is filled with real photos of the next iPhone sprawled across them.

Why Rumors Like This Make the iPhone 5 Seem Unlikely

The debate over whether the next iPhone will be the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4Gs over the past days has centered on what seems logical to the informed iPhone user versus a rumor from a well-placed source that the next iPhone will remain in the body of the iPhone 4. I have agreed in comments with iPhone 5′ers that indeed it makes much more sense that Apple will move forward with a revolutionary iPhone 5 than a refreshed iPhone 4, but I cannot discount the insider’s perspective of a top consumer electronics accessories in Asia.

But when fodder like this purported iPhone 5 video surfaces, it doesn’t help the case of the iPhone 5: it discredits the promise of an iPhone 5 in light of the recent iPhone 4Gs rumors. Consider it from this perspective: what is more plausible — that iPhone case designers are getting word out of the Apple components suppliers that the next iPhone will retain the iPhone 4′s form factor, and are moving ahead with iPhone case designs based on that model, or that iPhone case designers have gotten their hands on the actual specs of the iPhone 5 and are making advance iPhone 5 cases based on them?

. . . or, that Gizmodo got their hands on a “clone” of the iPhone 5? Or, that Apple accidentally put up photos of the iPhone 5 on their Swiss website?

. . . or, that some guy was photographed with an iPhone 5 playing Angry Birds on the subway?

. . . or, that a French guy on an iPhone forum posted a photo of a blurry iPhone 5?

The plurality of iPhone 5 sightings — including this new video — add up to little more than palpable skepticism about the iPhone 5, since all of it is such dreck. It’s sad to say, but for my part, the most credible piece of information I have ever read or received about the next iPhone suggests it’ll be an iPhone 4 refresh — even though it goes against all of the prevailing logic.

Let’s hope it’s erroneous.

Australia's first mobile network celebrates 30th birthday with a quiet night in
August 10, 2011 at 8:17 AM

Why is this phone staring at the ground in dismay? Because it can’t believe that it’s been 30 years since it made history. On this day three decades ago, this 14 kilogram beast was used to place the very first call on Australia’s very first mobile network — the Public Automatic Telephone System, operated by Telstra (or Telecom, as it was known at the time). Back then, the network could only support 1,000 users at once and provide coverage for the greater Melbourne area (things have since changed for the better). The device, meanwhile, was known simply as The Mobile Phone and, in retrospect, wasn’t all that mobile; the carphone system included a 45 centimeter handset, a transceiver and rooftop antenna — all for a little over $5,000. It could also store a whopping 16 phone numbers and would notify users of incoming calls by sounding the car’s horn and flashing its headlights. The Mobile Phone’s Australian reign, however, would be relatively short-lived, with the DynaTAC 8000x ushering in a new handheld era, just two years after Telstra’s inaugural call. Dial past the break for a Wagnerian commercial that’ll tell you everything you always wanted to know about antiquity, but were too afraid to ask.

[Thanks, Vincent]

Call Recorder – Total Recall 1.8.5 by CyberAndroid

Call Recorder – Total Recall 1.8.5 by CyberAndroid

Overview: Record Important Calls & Voice Notes Easily & Automatically!

Requirements: Android OS 1.6 – 2.3

Call Recorder App that is Feature Packed & Easy to Use! Features Powerful Call Recorder Features but also works great as a simple Voice Recorder (Dictaphone). Automatically record all or only some calls. Record voice notes, or trigger remote audio recording via SMS. Manually record on the fly and much more! The most popular call recorder for Symbian/S60 devices is now the BEST Voice & Call Recorder for Android.

NOTE: The ability to record both sides of the call is not possible on all Android devices. Some devices will only record the caller audio at very low levels (from the mic), others will record both sides of the call perfectly, while others simply will not record. This has nothing to do with the Total Recall Call Recorder and with your specific device. Also, due to system limitations, if your device runs low on resources, the call will not record, so it’s suggested to minimize apps running in the background when using Total Recall.

Will NOT record Calls On the Motorola Droid, Droid X, Droid 2, Nexus One/S, Many Galaxy Variants and other devices. Some devices will not record calls while using a Bluetooth Headset.

>>> Devices that users have confirmed support call recording (in some cases the caller audio is recorded from the mic at low volume, as noted):

New Nokia WP7 handsets either leaked or faked, it's hard to tell (video)
August 10, 2011 at 5:50 AM

This is a tricky one. You’re looking at a grab from a slightly shaky video that was emailed to Jay Montano and MyNokiaBlog. The tipster claimed to be a Microsoft insider, but used a .ovi email address. The video itself certainly looks polished, although it culls a couple of bits of footage from marketing clips that have been out for a while, including a futuristic segment from a Microsoft Office Labs promo. It’s either a genuine leak revealing new handsets that look substantially different to the Sea Ray, or it’s one of those silly Nokia-style manufactured leaks, or — very possibly — it’s just a nicely edited bit of fakery from a fan. But, whoever made it, we think they have some style.

Cnet's Molly Wood takes WP7 for a spin
August 10, 2011 at 3:16 AM

Last week or so, Cnet’s Molly Wood was lamenting her experience with Android on her Twitter account. Brandon Watson noticed and like Scott Adams, offered her a Mango device (HTC Trophy) to try out. If she doesn’t like it, then he’ll donate $1,000 to her choice of charity.

Since then, she has received the phone and in her first video on the issue, she shares her thoughts. Now at first take, we wanted to roll our eyes at some of the complaints, but then we remembered to step down from our tech-riddled high horse and treat her criticisms as valid–because if anything, her initial experience is what you would expect your non-techy friends to be like, warts and all. So while it’s true that ‘Words with Friends’ is not available on Windows Phone but we do have ‘Words by Post‘, not everyone will see them as the same. C’est la vie.

We’re not sure if we’re going to cover all of Molly’s thoughts on Windows Phone, but it is interesting to see her perspective. And before you laugh her off, remember, she’s more like your average consumer than not.
